Grants Manager and Development Associate
The Grants Manager and Development Associate works closely with staff in researching potential funding sources, writing annual solicitations to appropriate prospects for a variety of art exhibitions, public programs, and special projects/events, and following up/tracking all Museum grant awards.

Specifically, the Grants Manager and Development Associate is responsible for the preparation and fulfillment of foundation, corporate, private, and government grants – including letters of intent; interim and final reports to granting agencies; and other correspondence related to grants and sponsorships directed to funders and underwriters of the Tucson Museum of Art. 

Examples of Work Responsibilities:

  • Foster collaborative relationships with staff in all fundraising efforts, including writing project descriptions and preparing planned budgets;
  • Maintain a portfolio of all Museum supporting documents – e.g. promotional materials, newspaper articles, and television interviews;
  • Assist in acknowledging funders and tracking required report information;
  • Organize and participate with both on and off-site visits with funders;
  • Manage an internal grant proposal deadline calendar, ensuring opportunities are determined/scheduled well in advance of proposal submission dates.

Minimum and/or Desired Requirements/Knowledge/Skills:

  • Four-year degree and three years grant writing and/or development experience;
  • Strong ability to set and meet deadlines;
  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Computer proficiency (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Raiser’s Edge).

Salary:            $30,000 plus benefits
