

Families and children are especially welcome at the Museum! Offering an active program for children of all ages and families, the Museum is a fun and interesting place to spend an afternoon learning about and creating art together.
Picture This! Art for Families
For children ages 6 – 12 years and their adult companions, this free program is designed to introduce children to the varied world of art through gallery activities and tours, special performances, puppetry and hands-on art making projects. Spend the first half hour touring the Museum with docents and/or educators, and then venture to the Education Center to create an art work that can be taken home. Offered in conjunction with first Sunday’s free admission, Picture This! begins at 1:00 pm.
Summer Art Classes for Youth
Inspired by the permanent collection and special exhibitions, the Museum offers summer art classes for ages 3 - 16 to express their creativity and create original works of art. Classes are arranged by age and meet at different times during the summer.

Birthday Parties for Children
Celebrate your birthday with friends and family at the art museum!
Especially for children ages 5 years and up, a party at the Museum may include two fun-filled hours of gallery activities, tours and an art making project. There’s even time for cake!
Children can choose from a variety of entertaining projects:
Parties of 10 children or less is $150 for Museum members; $190 for non-members. Each additional child is $15 with a maximum of 20. Cake and beverages are extra.
Parties can be scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays during regular Museum hours. Dates and times are subject to availability. Allow at least three weeks advance notice when scheduling a party.
