Education Overview

The education department at the Tucson Museum of Art consists of educational programs featuring lectures and family arts days as well as the Tucson Museum of Art School and Research Library.

Throughout the year exhibition-specific and art history lectures are given in the auditorium.

From November through March, members of the Docent Council give weekly talks on individual artists or genre.

Special gallery talks and slide presentations by artists and/or curators are scheduled throughout the year. Be sure to check the Calendar for upcoming events.

Public and private tours are available for groups and may include exhibitions, specific collection areas, or the historic block.

Family Arts Days give children and their adult companions a chance to learn something new together and create an original art work, and are offered on the first Sunday of the month in conjunction with the museum's free admission day.
