RESEARCH LIBRARY

The Research Library has approximately 13,000 books that are easily searchable through an online catalog that can be accessed through the Pima County Public Library. The catalog includes books, periodicals, Museum publications, and other related materials dedicated to the visual arts.

The Research Library’s highlights include Art of the American West, Art of Latin America (pre-Columbian to the present), Modern and Contemporary Art, general art history, American Art, Oceanic Art, African Art, Asian Art, the Presidio and Historic Houses, and Art Education materials. It provides visitors with research assistance and referrals. Services are free and the non-circulating collection is open to the public.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, First Sundays, 12:00 - 3:00 pm.

Special Collections: Special collections include Museum exhibition records, Historic Block archives, the Lee and Pam Parry Collection with 1400 titles focusing on American art from the colonial era through the 20th century; Arizona artist files and archives; and the Frederick R. Pleasants Collection featuring pre-Columbian, Oceanic and African art.

Historic Block Collection: An inventory to the historic block records housed in the Research Library. Access to this collection is open to the public.
