Tucson collector Dan Leach developed his passion for art in the 1960s when he moved to New York from northwest Florida to pursue a career in singing and acting. Beginning to build an impressive collection of contemporary ceramics there, he soon met the well-known painter Joseph DiGiorgio, who stimulated his interest for collecting paintings.
Over the last several decades, the ever curious collector has amassed a large collection of paintings, photographs, works on paper, ceramics, turned wood bowls, and art glass that reveals an eclectic eye and a love for beauty and craftsmanship.
This exhibition encompasses only a small portion of his incredible collection and features works by both internationally renowned artists and significant artists from the region. The Dan Leach collection has been promised to the Tucson Museum of Art upon his death, so that future generations can appreciate his lifelong passion for art.
