A year long series dedicated to exhibiting the works of six artists of Latino/a and Chicano/a heritage, who currently work and live in the southwestern United States.
El Pasoan Gaspar Enriquez is an artist and educator who has worked extensively with inner city youth and providing them with alternatives through art. His paintings are often portraits of that youth and the generations that, due to exclusion, have created alternative structures of power within the barrios. Gaspar does not romanticize the lifestyle of the streets, but renders generations suspended in time that many would otherwise avoid, never recognize, or see. His airbrushed works powerfully reflect the art of Low Riders and of the contemporary expression of the urban border barrio.
