The Tucson Museum of Art's Historic Block, once a part of the walled fortress that was the beginning of Tucson, brings the rich history of a bygone era together with the art of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. At the center of the block is a lush courtyard with a sculpture garden and waterfall known as the Plaza of the Pioneers, which serves as a hub of social and cultural activities. The Plaza is surrounded by five distinctive houses built between circa 1850 and 1907, and the more modern main museum building.
Regularly scheduled docent-led tours of the Historic Block are offered October through April, Tuesday (Corbett House only), Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 11:00 am. Tours are free with admission to the museum and meet in the lobby.
