The Research Library

The Research Library at the Tucson Museum of Art reflects the strengths of the museum's permanent art collection and traveling exhibitions. The library is an important community and state resource for art, history and culture. It provides visitors with research assistance and referrals. Services are free and the non-circulating collection is open to the public.

The library has more than 12,000 books that are easily searchable through an online catalog that can be accessed through the Tucson-Pima Public Library. The catalog includes Tucson Museum of Art publications, national museum publications, monographs on artists, material on art history with emphasis on Modern and Contemporary Art, Art of the Americas, Art of the American West, and art education.

Hours: Monday - Thursday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm; first Thursday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Special Collections: Special collections include museum exhibition records, Historic Block archives, the Lee and Pam Parry Collection with 1400 titles focusing on American art from the colonial era through the 20th century; and the Frederick R. Pleasants Collection featuring pre-Columbian, Oceanic and African art.

Historic Block Collection: An inventory to the historic block records housed in the Research Library. Access to this collection is open to the public.
