Some had a romantic view of the landscape and some had a more modernist edge. All were enchanted by the “Sense of Place.” \nUna mirada a la “Segunda Ola” de artistas paisajistas que pintaron en Santa Fe y Taos. DESCRIPTION:Meditation in the Galleries \nSaturday\, May 30\, 2026  \nMeditation in the Galleries    \nTake a deep breath and experience the Arizona Biennial 2026 through a guided slow-looking meditation led by Desiree Hammond\, featuring mindful art observation and reflective discussion.   \nWhat happens when we experience art through the body\, not just the mind?  \nIn this two-hour session\, we will explore art through embodied awareness. Together\, we will practice orienting\, gently noticing what draws our attention\, and explore how different pieces land in our bodies.  \nThrough guided prompts\, quiet reflection\, journaling\, and meditation\, participants will be invited to slow down\, tune in\, and engage with art as a mirror for our internal experience. Bring curiosity. No prior art knowledge or meditation experience needed  \nMeet Your Instructor: Desiree Hammond  \nDesiree Hammond is Vice President of Community Impact at the Women’s Foundation for the State of Arizona\, and a community-centered leader with over 13 years of experience leading initiatives that expand access\, deepen engagement\, and build organizational capacity. In addition to her work in philanthropy\, Desiree is a certified yoga instructor\, somatic practitioner\, and full-spectrum doula.
