You then fill the stitched bag with lavender or other dried herbs from Monsoon Mystics while enjoying tea and pastries from local vendors.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that this is not a class with formal instruction; rather, it\u2019s an opportunity to stitch in community. Some experience with hand sewing is helpful but not required.<\/p>\n<p>During this casual gathering, you\u2019ll have access to hand mending tools and materials, like scissors, needles, thread, embroidery floss, and fabric scraps. Wendy will be available to offer suggestions and advice if you get stuck or aren\u2019t sure how to get started.<\/p>\n<p>About Wendy Raisanen:<\/p>\n<p>Wendy Raisanen is a fiber artist living in Phoenix. She has been making art, painting, and sewing since she was a child. Upcycling clothes, designing and sewing garments, painting, and making art quilts make up her current art practice. She is also the curator of exhibitions for Scottsdale Public Art.<\/p>\n<p>This program is part of NightShift, TMA\u2019s after-hours series that brings art, creativity, and community together.
