DESCRIPTION:On the first Thursday of every month the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block offers extended hours and pay-what-you-wish admission from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Join us on December 4th for an evening filled with gallery activities and art-making inspired by health + wellness and don’t miss an opportunity to support a local food vendor\, and enjoy music by Dos Sueños. \nThrough 2025\, TMA will host the Mexican American Heritage and History Museum’s monthly history social during First Thursdays while the Sosa-Carrillo House is closed for remodel. During the program\, Mauro Trejo IV\, Los Descendientes board member and MexAm Museum volunteer will share insights on various aspects of Tucson’s history (register here). December’s topic will be When did it start in Tucson? DESCRIPTION:Casa Cordova and Bonnie L. Bradford Courtyard \nIn Storied Property: María Cordova’s Casa\, historian and memoirist Lydia R. Otero uncovers the layered history of a home that once belonged to María Navarrete Cordova (1895–1975)\, who considered herself the rightful heir and authority over the house and the surrounding area’s history. Located within the original boundaries of the Presidio San Agustín del Tucsón\, the property held both personal and historical significance. This celebration will include a series of experiences ranging from readings from Otero’s book\, Storied Property\,  history spotlights\, poetry\, and live music. More details coming soon! \nEn Storied Property: Maria Cordova’s Casa\, historiadora y memorialista Lydia R. Children of all ages are invited to join her Nutcracker ballet class and to hear the enchanting story of The Nutcracker.\n\nHansel & Gretel vs. the Witch by Arizona Opera\nMusic by Engelbert Humperdinck.
