DESCRIPTION:On the first Thursday of every month the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block offers extended hours and pay-what-you-wish admission from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. \nOn September 4th get inspired by the newly installed exhibition Condición Humana/ Human Condition: Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art in the Mary Jo Brown Gallery\, create tinfoil sculptures in  the art-making station\, participate in a scavenger hunt to find everyday items that tell a story in the Ya Hecho exhibit\, purchase food from Taco Stop and listen to music by Britt Warner in the galleries.  \nThrough 2025\, TMA will host the Mexican American Heritage and History Museum’s monthly history social during First Thursdays while the Sosa-Carrillo House is closed for remodel. During the program\, Mauro Trejo IV\, Los Descendientes board member and MexAm Museum volunteer will share insights on various aspects of Tucson’s history (register here). \nThis Month (until September 25th) TMA is partnering with Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona’s to host a food drive (see what’s most needed here). DESCRIPTION:During 2025\, TMA will host the Mexican American Heritage and History Museum’s monthly history socials while the Sosa-Carrillo House is closed for remodel. The free talks were started and continue to be given by Trejo’s Tucson Walking Tours\, during the program Mauro Trejo IV\, Los Descendientes board member and MexAm Museum volunteer\, will share insights on various aspects of Tucson’s history. September’s subject is “Geronimo’s surrender: prelude and aftermath”. \nThese History Socials celebrate the rich history and diverse culture of Tucson and the surrounding region and will form part of a year-long celebration honoring over 4\,000 years of history\, heritage\, and culture in Tucson and Pima County.
