9th Annual CRUSH Gala and Live Auction of Fine Art and Wine
Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort

TUCSON, ARIZONA (January 26, 2016)  – CRUSH Gala, Tucson’s must-attend social event fundraiser for the Tucson Museum of Art, features Southern Arizona’s largest live auction of fine art and fine wine. Conducted by Bonhams International Auctioneers and Appraisers, the event will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, located in the Catalina Foothills at 7000 North Resort Drive, Tucson, AZ 85750. Following the live auction, CRUSH Gala guests will enjoy a gourmet meal, live music, and dancing to the musical stylings of The George Howard Band.

“We are excited to offer a delectable multi-course dinner with fine wine pairings for each course,” said CRUSH Gala Co-Chair Joyce Broan. “The live auction is outstanding, worthy of major attention from serious art collectors,” added CRUSH Gala Co-Chair Louise Glasser. “I know that there is something in the auction for everyone.”

Artworks in the live auction include works by nationally-known contemporary, modern, and Western artists Lawrence W. Lee, Maria Martinez, Ed Mell, Howard Post, Barbara Rogers, Fritz Scholder, and Robert “Shoofly” Shufelt. Adding to the exciting selection of works in the auction is a self-portrait by the internationally renowned singer-songwriter, musician, and composer, Buffy Sainte-Marie, who holds a Ph.D. in fine art from the University of Massachusetts.

The auctioneer for the live auction will be Martin Gammon, the Vice President of Business Development and Museum Services at Bonhams, based in Washington, D.C. Dr. Gammon is a frequent charity auctioneer for such groups as The Leakey Foundation, the San Francisco Opera, and the Red Cross. Martin is also a Patron of the Museum Trustees Association, on the Corporate Council of the Phillips Collection, and is a member of the Grolier Club of New York. He is also a regular appraiser of rare books and manuscripts on PBS’ “Antiques Roadshow®.”
