Celebrate the First 100 Years and the Beginning of the Collection at the Tucson Museum of Art Annual Gala 2024

Tucson, AZ – The Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block (TMA) Board of Trustees presents the Centennial Gala on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 5–9 p.m. This year’s theme celebrates the museum’s first 100 years and first collection piece, La Revue Blanche, an 1895 color lithograph by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Participants will enjoy cocktails, mingling, dinner under the stars, live and silent auctions, and Fund-a-Need at 6:30 p.m. in the Bonnie L. Bradford Courtyard. All proceeds benefit TMA’s exhibitions, programs, and community engagement activities. We invite you to join us this year in support of the museum’s Centennial and the vibrancy of the arts in southern Arizona. Tickets are available at TucsonMuseumofArt.org/gala.

TMA Gala 2024 includes:
• A silent and premium auction hosted online through ClickBid, featuring over 70 pieces of artwork, fine jewelry, exquisite wines, and unique experiences. The auction will be open to the public the first week in March.
• Social hour consisting of wine and hors d’oeuvres provided by Café a la C’Art and Carte Blanche Catering, music, and auction items on view in the museum’s entrance lobby.
• Individual tickets at $350 are available at TMA’s website. Various Sponsorship opportunities and Table Host options for tables of eight are also available at TucsonMuseumofArt.org/gala

Upcoming Events, Programs, and Lectures
• Viajeros en el tiempo: fundaciones, transformaciones y expansiones en el Centenario will preview at the Gala and open to the public on Sunday, March 17th.
• Book Signing in conjunction with the Time Travelers exhibition Member/ VIP opening Friday, March 22nd at 5:30 p.m.
• Curator Tours on Wednesday, March 27 at 11 a.m. with Christine Brindza, Friday, April 12 at 1:30 p.m. with Julie Sasse, and Friday, April 19 at 1:30 p.m. with Kristoper Driggers (capacity 25 for each tour).
• Be part of our Community Block Party on Sunday, November 10th in conjunction with Second SundAZe Family Day. Music, food trucks, artmaking, and more will be happening across our museum campus – plus the reopening of La Casa Cordova with restoration generously funded by Mr. and Mrs. William A. Small, Jr. founders of the Stonewall Foundation, a fund of the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona.

TMA connects art to life through meaningful and engaging experiences that inspire discovery, spark creativity, and promote cultural understanding. Founded in 1924, TMA encompasses an entire city block in historic downtown Tucson and is committed to developing quality exhibitions, expanding, and diversifying its collection, providing arts education opportunities, and presenting relevant and innovative programs while broadening public access to the arts.

TMA’s extensive community arts engagement programming has been recognized and supported by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Library and Museum Services. Additionally, TMA is responsible for maintaining and sharing with the public, five buildings which are on the National Register of Historic Places: J. Knox Corbett House, La Casa Cordova, Edward Nye Fish House, Romero House, and Stevens/Duffield House.

As an institution built upon the original territories of the O’odham, the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block (TMA) acknowledges the Indigenous Sonoran Desert communities, past and present, who have stewarded this region throughout generations.
