The Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block proudly commemorates 50 Years of Art, Culture, and Community at our architectural gem in Downtown Tucson.
Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate and reflect on TMA’s five decades of connecting art to life at our historic location. Beginning at 5 p.m., enjoy cocktails, small bites, mingling, silent and live auctions, and Fund-A-Need in the lovely Bonnie L. Bradford Courtyard. In honor of this special 50th anniversary we will have the unique experience of dining among the art inside the museum’s galleries. Please note, as good stewards of TMA’s collection, red wine will not be served during our delicious dinner catered by Carte Blanche but it will be available during the reception and auctions in the Courtyard. This year’s honorary chairs are Andy and Linda Anderson.
All proceeds benefit Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block. Complimentary valet parking and Gala entrance located at 173 N. Meyer Ave. Tickets are $350.
THANKS TO OUR WONDERFUL SUPPORTERS, THE EVENT IS SOLD OUT!

Honorary Chairs – Andy and Linda Anderson
Andy Anderson, Partner in the firm of William Wilde & Associates, led the design team for the museum building completed in 1975. Anderson moved to Tucson and enrolled in the University of Arizona’s first class at the School of Architecture in the College of Fine Arts. Andy worked for Nicholas Sakellar & Associates, Architects (his second mentor), and in 1967 he joined Caudill Rowlett Scott in Houston and helped design the original Pima Community College.
He met Linda in 1974, and they married in 1978. Linda got a husband and two teen age kids to raise, his sons Mark & Kelsey. In 1984 our daughter Kate came along. Linda is a graduate of the U of A with a BA in Finance, she has been a stockbroker, a real estate agent and a full-time mother. Linda has also been very active in the community. She was one of the original team that founded Angel Charity, has served on the Board of Ballet Arts (now Ballet Tucson), was a member of the Tucson Junior League, and co-chaired many fund-raising events for the then St. Gregory College Preparatory School.
Celebrating 100 years of art, culture, history, and heritage
To celebrate TMA’s centennial anniversary, staff interviewed artists, collaborators, members, staff, and supporters to create a collective portrait of the museum. These 17 voices highlight personal connections, experiences, and memories of TMA—and presented here, these reflections are organized into four thematic sections: Place, Experience, Art, and Support. Fund-A-Need Remarks from Artist Papay Solomon
Papay Solomon (b. 1993, Guinea) approaches portraiture as a means to redefine and complicate African narratives, steering them away from oversimplified perspectives. Solomon currently lives and works in Arizona. He earned his BFA in Painting and a Minor in Design Studies from Arizona State University’s Herberger Institute of Design and the Arts, where he
graduated with distinction as the Outstanding Undergraduate Student. His works are part of several esteemed permanent collections, including the Tucson Museum of Art. Solomon, a recipient of TMA’s Erni Cabat Award from the 2018 Arizona Biennial, has fostered a longstanding relationship with the museum.
