On the first Thursday of every month the Tucson Museum of Art and Historic Block offers extended hours and pay-what-you-wish admission from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. On May’s First Thursday we invite you to enjoy a performance (5:30 p.m.) by dancers of Ballet Tucson of a new work choreographed by Principal dancer Danielle Cesanek. Following the performance, participate in a community dance class (6:00 p.m.) with Ballet Tucson!
During First Thursdays TMA provides space for emerging and established food vendors throughout Arizona to offer pop-ups and encourage guests to support local businesses and foodie creatives. This month, purchase delicious Neapolitan pizza from Baileys Artisan Pizza Company and desserts by Sweets Cakes & Treats.
The evening will also include a cash bar serving beer and wine, an exquisite corpse art-making station led by Ami, gallery activities that explore expansion and movement facilitated by Laila, and live music by Bessett and Callahan. Additionally, be sure to check out the newly opened Creative Space, the museum’s interactive family-friendly gallery to discover more art-making opportunities.

El Primer Jueves de mayo lo invitamos a disfrutar de la presentación (5:30 p.m.) del Ballet Tucson de una nueva obra coreografiada por la bailarina principal Danielle Cesanek. Después de la presentación, participe en una clase de baile comunitaria (6:00 p. m.) con Ballet Tucson.
Durante los Primeros Jueves, TMA brinda espacio para que los vendedores de comida emergentes y establecidos de Arizona ofrezcan ventanas emergentes y alienten a los invitados a apoyar a las empresas locales y a los creativos gastronómicos.
