One year ago today a small but elated group gathered for the dedication of the Kasser Family Wing of Latin American Art. After years of planning, preparation and construction – plus some pandemic-related delays – the building and exhibitions were ready for their debut. Museum staff, architect Andy Anderson and a handful of museum trustees watched the Kasser family cut the ribbon and launch the new space.
Discover how the Kasser family’s collection of Ancient American art grew over decades and how it came to be on view at Tucson Museum of Art in the documentary film Kasser Family Wing: An Art Legacy. This short film, produced by Hector Gonzalez, Pam White, and Jorge Gonzalez, documents the history of the Kasser Collection of Art of the Ancient Americas and the creation of exhibitions for the Kasser Family Wing of Latin American Art.
And to help us all relive that day one year ago, here are the opening remarks from the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony by Jeremy Mikolajczak, TMA’s Jon and Linda Ender Director and CEO.
